This session is open to girls ages 16-19. Tools will be provided. All materials must be purchased by students.

Ever wanted to design furniture? Use powertools? Wire a lamp? Transform a painting into a table or a table into a painting? This summer work with local artist Aspen Golann and design, create and bring home your own original piece of vintage or modern furniture and learn some woodworking skills while you're at it.
Bring a piece of furniture from home or from a second hand store, or even the 'Free' section on Craigslist, to transform. Students will then design their alterations/additions/subtractions and create their pieces with the help of the instructor. An excellent introduction to woodworking and furniture building.
Aspen Golann is a visual artist and designer living and working in Austin, TX. Her work includes sculptural furniture, portraiture, black and white photography, bookmaking, and weaving.
